Margaret Taçon was born in Sunningdale, Berkshire, during the 1940s, the daughter of an RAF engineer.

As an artist she is completely self-taught. From the age of 8 years old, Margaret loved to sketch and paint, and by the time she was a teenager she was painting in oils, the family dog being her first subject.

Her natural talent for capturing wildlife, domestic animals and florals on canvas matured, paving the way for the creation of the imaginitive and life-like pictures that she paints today.

She is a great animal lover and gains tremendous pleasure from painting those beautiful creatures - from threatened African wildlife to the humble Harvest Mouse. Their beauty is recreated in Margarets's paintings to be admired by many for years to come.
